National Defence, Borders and Migration: studies on Humanitarian Aid and Integrated Security

 

Abstract

The research project aims to conduct systematic network research of contents of conceptual interest for National Defence, Borders and Migrations. Teams of associated researchers from the following institutions participate: Army Command and Genral Staff College (RJ) (Leading Institution), Federal University of Amazonas (AM), Federal University of Grande Dourados (MS), Federal University of Roraima (RR), State University of Roraima (RR), Salgado de Oliveira University  (RJ) and the Institute for Economic and Social Development of Borders (IDESF). The teams also have researchers from other higher education intuitions and military organizations. The project has two themes linked to National Defence: Integrated Security and Humanitarian Aid. These are nuclei from which aspects and dynamics in progress, in the Terrestrial Border Strip, will be investigated, such as population movements, transnational crime, and other themes that have repercussions in the Brazilian context. It is assumed that the research object is complex, so the multidisciplinary approach is used, integrating researchers with background in different  and comprehensive areas of knowledge, capable of better understanding the development and / or instability of the spaces of analysis, as well as antecedents and reflexes in the field of Military Sciences, International Relations and Defence Studies.
